What's New?

Lucets and 'Giulia's Box'

We're excited to hear that many shops are offering classes in making your own lucet cord! This cord makes a pretty, strong trim for anything from pin pillows and ornaments to stringing a necklace. It is a simple technique to learn and each lucet comes with clear photographs and instructions to help you. Our lucet has a handle, making it easy to hold while providing a place to wind the cord, thus keeping it out of your way. We made this lucet a little smaller so that it fits the hand.

We are so thrilled to have been contacted by Giulia Manfredini of GPA to create a box for one of her newest designs. Every box is handmade from Cherry wood, and is aged in the sun before applying a hand-rubbed finish. UV light adds color to the wood that would normally develop as it ages. We are lucky to have the hot Arizona sun as adding a year of age only takes about 4 days in its light.

Giulia's Box

Giulia's design, 'Old Windmill Village - Sewing Box and Accessories', also features one of our Hornbook Treadkeepers!

We have also designed these sweet Coastal Hornbooks in a variety of distressed and shabby chic colors. A sampling is shown below, but more colors are available.

We've been so busy! We had such a wonderful time at the TNNA Nashville Market 'Make it! Take it! Sell it!' workshop teaching people to use a lucet that we're going to be teaching again! Attic Needlework in Mesa, AZ will be holding a 'Summer Sampler Soiree' from Friday, August 17 ~ Sunday, August 19 and we've been invited to participate. We're busily dreaming up a new project to teach that utilizes the lucet cord .

'Taby's Needle Cushion' is trimmed in lucet cord, and features a wool strip in which to park your needles, eliminating the 'lost needle' problem with pincushions.

It is adorable worked in many colors - choose your favorite!

Just released at Celebration of Needlework Nashua, NH is our latest reproduction American Sampler, 'Jane Osborn'. We think it's the perfect spring sampler, with its bright colors and darling motifs. Look for it at your favorite needlework shop!

The hand-grained frame is also available to order.
